Atlanta Nonstop

Atlanta Nonstop. the work.group architecture

Architect John Portman insists that the inspiration for his work in downtown Atlanta was Venice. Of course this deserves to be ridiculed, but the work.group, believing there was something in his assertion, took up the challenge with a series of walking tours in and around his work. We find Venetian kinship in never knowing our location in space at any time, but not caring because there is always somewhere else to go. We never have to stop moving, the circuit never ends, we make our own way out of the potential that has been established by planners and builders before us.
